    Default Bumper respray price

After a few miles and a couple of welsh weekends, my front spoiler/bumper looks...somewhat pot marked should we say! Not sure you could get many more stone chips on it if I'm honest.

I've had an estimate back to re-spray it of between 1.5k-2.5k (Inc VAT) depending what needs doing. Not having had much respray work done before do people think this is reasonable?

    Cheers

No, I'd say that's not close to reasonable. I haven't had paint done for a while but getting my targa prepped (from black plastic) filled, resprayed etc at an Approved Ferrari Bodyshop through my main dealer was a fraction of that.

    Er, no!

When I had the rather unfortunate spinning experience at Dunsfold and collected a landing light with the rear bumper, I had :

Repair to the rear bumper (driver side corner had a hole and several cracks in it)
Very slight small dent (size of a stone) taken out from the front of the car - just in front of the luggage compartment shut line
Front bumper, bonnet, front wings painted and blended into doors

I paid ~1700 if I remember correctly (Riviera autobody).

I've had bumpers done on a few cars and would expect under 300 - maybe 500 if it was being blended into bonnet / wings etc.

Sounds about what I would expect

Think having my black sills redone all the way round was 300. Different job but gives an indication. Methinks someone's added a bit of 'Ferrari Tax' to your quote, Adrian

Say hello to the Ferrari tax.

Off topic, we recently had three plumbers in to quote for fitting a new combi boiler which was a simple one day task. Two were similar on price and realistic but funnily enough the one who asked to look into our integral garage (meter location) came in at nearly 1.5k more. I wonder why that was

Adrian let me know if you can find someone who can do a good job at a decent price in our area, as I have more stone chips than paint !!! I think I must have followed a mobile shot blaster on the Welsh Weekender

These guys have a great reputation or consider Specialised at Calcot/ Reading. Specialised did the whole front of a 355 plus the wheels refinished and detail parts for around the price you've been quoted for the bumper.

Don't discount Dick Lovett Spraymaster in Swindon, stunning job but they're not cheap

And lastly I know it's a trek but these guys repainted my 599, the finish was like glass and truly superb and I'm sure they'll be very competitve, speak to Tim Denney
