    Default 348 Cobra aftermarket alarm

I am after some advice from anyone who has had this system fitted. It looks like my siren has gone faulty, it won't reset, however the alarm etc. does reset. The car was out in the rain a few times, so speaking to the alarm people the siren itself seems to be at fault. Car starts ok I can drive it , but this thing just keeps going unless I disconnect the battery.
To my main question, does anyone know where the favoured location is, it's in the front somewhere but I'm struggling to find it. I really don't want to remove the front bumper unless I really have to.

I can tell you it's not behind the nearside, (LHS,) vent cover in the wheelarch I'll check the nearside next, at least then I will have the covers off so can tackle the bumper removal if it's hiding behind there.

Not much room in the RHS as aircon radiator in there. Looks like the bumper's coming off next. But it has meant I could clean up and repaint some of the bits and pieces.

Before you take the bumper off are you sure itís not under the front boot trim? Odd place to put it but there are a few nooks and crannies there that you could fit one.

Could be worth a quick look first?

+1. Would definitely look under the boot inner trim before taking the bumper off.

    Hi Alan

It's not this is it?? Inside the front bumper on passenger (UK) side

BTW A quick way to look inside your bumper is to remove the fog light and look through the aperture behind it.

To remove the fog light prize off the black plate at the side with a wide slotted screwdriver (protect the lense with a cloth) which reveals 2 large cross head screws - they'll be very stiff if they've not been off before.

BTW Have you tried setting the alarm off then listening for it???

I don't need to set it off as it goes as soon as the battery is connected. Yes I tried to listen but it gets so loud up close its difficult to tell. It's definitely not in boot nooks and crannies. It sounds as you say passenger side behind bumper.

That looks like it, I think, but mines not in there.

That looks like it, I think, but mines not in there. It sound like it is just to the left of the horns, but not actually in the space behind fog light. I'll keep you all posted lol 😂

Well, as I chase through the wiring on my immobiliser and Tracker I have found...
    - earth straps, screwed to body work using anodised screw into painted metal work! Not much earthing could be doing there, and within 5 inches is the earth point for the fuse panel...why not use that?
    - and the attached picture, not soldered!

What utter rubbish from an "approved" fitter!

No wonder there are so many issues with alarms with absolute cra* installation like this.
