Yes i will give that a try.

I will disconnect them both tommorow, see which one causes the engine to cut out, and then swap them over and reconnect, then disconnect again, if the very same maf causes the engine to cut out then surely theres something sinister about it.

The bits to make the ECU harness arrive monday so hopefully have some codes, although i fear having discconected allsorts last couple of days it will be a mess of codes!

I can try that tomorrow as unlike Nick my car works fine. I think it's because I'm not a mechanic so I don't fiddle with it as much...……

Will let you know if she runs with both disconnected.

Have you checked the resistance across both MAFs? they should read 383 ohms but you'll need to check in the manual which pins that's across. It's unlikely they'd read correctly if the MAF was shot.

p.s If disconnecting a MAF causes the engine to cut out it's the other one which is dead, the one which is still connected not the one you disconnected. Hope that makes sense.

Yes that makes sense, sorry its what i meant to say

Its just backside twitching me at the minute, ive been told multiple times that nothing serious sounds wrong but it would just be nice to have a “culprit”,

That would be fantastic if you could! Be very useful. like i said, with mine, i discconnected one, then disconnected the second one aswell and the engine cut out

Pins 1 and 6 to measure MAF resistance. Im sure I read somewhere it can measure 383 ohms and still be faulty. Would be interesting to know for sure.
Another interesting page to read. Section 2 at the bottom mainly. Slightly different description to the earlier posted page.

So thats hinting a failed maf “may” not drop the bank, although limp mode is still running is it not?

    Thanks for the pin info

Well, she didn't much like me disconnecting both MAFs and she searched a bit before settling down. Disconnecting the left had slightly more effect than the right if you did them one at a time for some reason but she managed to run with both disconnected:

This was about as bad as it got searching as I disconnected both but when I waited a while with them disconnected it settled down a bit. Wouldn't want to rev her like this though:
