Not wanting to leave that impression of the car.

After all the repairs were done and some late nights in the garage, I won a couple of concours trophies with the car.

    Looks fantastic, Terry

I think the Mondials, along with other cars from that era and slightly before, have aged well. A bit like the 308GT4s they look better as a classic than they did as an old modern car imo.

    I fully agree.

As above. My first Ferrari was a 1983 Mondial QV. Sure it had its problems but I'd have that over my second Ferrari (F355) just because the latter (despite being beautiful) cost so much more to maintain.
I think I would go with a 3.2 if I was to have another go. Mainly because the belts are done engine in. The T looks the best IMHO.

    Day I bought it..

Many years ago I was being entertained to a number of exotics at a track day. I was offered a drive in a Mondial and was somewhat disappointed at the prospect. Anyway, buckled up and took it round the track. I have to say I was very impressed by its agility and it proved a very entertaining vehicle indeed. I came away with a lot of respect for it.

Sadly I have been let down by the vendor of a nice looking 3.4 t today. I was all set to buy but he's changed his mind.

I have my eye on a 1985 QV and I wondered if anyone on here has experience of the 3.0 QV? It's 240hp and I wanted to know if this felt underpowered and disappointing?

I’ve not driven an earlier Mondial and I’m sure they’re all great fun but the earlier Mondial is not only almost 1/4 down on power, it also weighs a bit more than the later model. I personally think the Mondial T interior is a nice step up as well. Although the ‘T’ will be a bit more expensive to maintain (but both are easily diyable) if it were me I’d be tempted to wait for the right ‘T’ to come along.

Edit: I didn’t edit your post as it says above - accidentally hit edit rather than reply with quote

^^^ if Pete had edited the post, it would have been changed to "I'm off to buy a 348 instead"
