    Default Sudden Mondial t lust

Why have I suddenly developed a crush on the Mondial t?

I sold my 612 f1 last year and my 360 f1 in August this year. Both of these cars were almost too fast for a spirited drive on my local roads, and maximum revs in 3rd gear would get illegal very quickly. I wonder if a manual Mondial t would be more fun. Certainly a manual 300hp Ferrari for £30,000 makes quite a tempting prospect. I also quite like the underdog reputation for some reason.

At that sort of price, what's not to like!

And even if you find its not for you, bailing out shouldn't hurt much.

Justify it to yourself as being a practical, sensible car with 4 seats and 2 boots

Cheapest Ferrari I ever bought, I paid £12500 for a LHD Mondi t about ten years ago.

Guy was emigrating and had to sell in a hurry. It was actually better to drive every day (which is what I used it for) than a 348 because of the power steering and longer wheelbase.

I took it on one of our forum runs down to Dorset and it was faultless.

Sensible choice, if buying a Ferrari can ever be sensible. The Mondial T ticks a lot of boxes for me too.

Iíll echo all of the comments above, sensible choice.

The only thing many people who have driven them donít like about the Mondial T is that other people who havenít driven them say theyíre not up to much. If that doesnít bother you, and why should it, crack on. I got a 348 for many of the reasons youíve listed above but if I wanted something more useable Iíd be more than happy with a Mondial T.

Does anyone know of a nice example for sale? There aren't many advertised.

    Thanks in advance.

I had a Mondial t for a few years and thought it was good with the additional seats but only good for small or athletic people.

The big thing to look out for when purchasing is corrosion. Corrosion is worst just below door level but even worse in the lower floor which is covered and not easy to see from the underside. Lift the carpets and you may see and wet carpets are an indication of a problem.
