Thread: Belts interval with modern belts

    Thought I would share this with you all, just happened on my mates daily runner this week after his holiday in France.
    Yes he knew they needed replacing but didn't have the time, now he has no choice, have been helping out with strip down, rebuild hasn't started yet.
    The tension bearing disintegrated thus ripping teeth off the belt and slamming the valves into the pistons( you can clearly see the in print)

    So don't be a tight wad and change just the belts, change belts and bearings at same time, what's an extra few bob.

    6 years of ownership myself and both times I've fitted Hills engineering bearings at the 3 year service interval, it's just not worth the risk personally to ME.
