Mine's been trouble free despite a bit of abuse. If I ever have enough funds together for a full garage refurb (I moved house in the end as the planning I mentioned in 2008 was refused) I'll give it some tlc. But the chances of that are looking less and less likely as the reality of school fees kicks in

They customised mine to fit in a narrow garage, but tbh Malc I am positive it won't be possible in your garage from the pictures you've noted. The 4x corner posts sit outside the car's width, and are too big to fit the gaps you have I reckon. You can get single post lifts but don't think they'd fit your situation either (and don't think they're a great idea for "parking facilitation" either personally).
    Thanks,
I don't think so either. There are alcoves at the very front of the garage because there is a small extended roof over it (about 2') and I guess the brick may be single but at the back of the garage I don't have that extra width.
If they could tailor one small enough it is unlikely a car would even fit on

House is a three bedroom house and as my GF's eldest son has 'come back home' (two youngest are already here) and I see no end to it over the next couple of years I'm thinking of either moving or extending. If I did the former I would want a double garage but fear the compromise will be extending.
After that decision has been made I will look into my options if indeed there are any.

    Why?

Mostly yes, unfortunately I'd struggle to leave the house any way except via the Ferrari... or the back door!

She would really complain when bringing the food into the lounge diner from the kitchen as she would have to walk outside and in the back.
I guess I'm stuck with it. Could be worse as it is actually her car (that Alfa) that has to be left outside.

I'm thinking about one of those touchless covers. Carcoon is just too damn big and silver for the front. Besides it really is a teeny weeny house and the Carcoon would actually be a bigger place to live.
